Matt and Louis tied the knot in a beautiful, Italian inspired wedding at local fav, Porta, in Jersey City, NJ. When we first met this amazing couple, they had been through a lot, having to cancel and reschedule their wedding twice before due to covid! Having gotten engaged in 2019 on vacation in Positano, Italy, Matt and Louis originally started planning a gorgeous destination wedding there. But as we all know, covid had other plans for us. So they rescheduled, twice! Until they finally got to celebrate their love locally, at Porta in Jersey City, NJ!
Our botanical challenge was to recreate the feeling of being on a Mediterranean mountainside. First we chose the light Spring colors of ivory, blush and peach to pair with imported Italian olive branches and other lush foliage. Then we set out to design sustainable creations that evoke love and romance on the Amalfi Coast! Matt and Louis are crystal collectors so we knew we wanted to incorporate rose quartz and clear quartz into their designs. At their Ceremony, we created a deconstructed arch design as their backdrop that we repurposed behind their Couple’s Table after their I-Dos. As guests reached the rooftop, before their nuptials, they were able to enjoy a cold glass from our boxwood champagne wall display. Then after the happy couple tied the knot, they went down into the main dining room to enjoy a luxurious family style meal atop foliage garlands covered in beautiful blooms. We styled crystal tealight holders and tall points among the botanical installations. And one of my favorite installations was the lush garden we created around their wedding cake!
